The Alumni Association considers its work with you - our campus partner - as essential to our mission in serving, engaging and informing OHIO alumni.
This website outlines the many ways the Alumni Association can assist your college, department or unit in meeting its goals for alumni engagement. We can help you plan events, select venues and menus, host online registration, advise you on event promotion and even staff the event. Our services are nominal if not free, and we can discuss cost sharing options based on the type of event you plan.

Let us be your event expert. We can provide event planning services to include: venue identification and selection, catering, and logistics. We can facilitate communication with your alumni. We can help staff your event and manage registration. We can work with University Leadership to enhance campus awareness as well as regional awareness for your event and programs.
For all future events, consider this process an opportunity for your College/Unit/Department and Central Advancement to partner and build a culture of engagement through effective and strategic planning and execution.
Step 1: Complete Event Notification:

No matter if your event is a breakfast, lunch, reception, dinner, etc. we will help you with:
- Invitation list creation;
- Contract negotiations;
- Leadership attendance, if interested;
- Event timeline;
- Event briefing;
The goal is to alleviate event planning pressure, allowing you to focus on cultivation and stewardship of your leads and prospects.
Step 2: Review
Once this form is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Event Committee consisting of Jim Hill, Joe Pauwels, Jacqie Weber, and Dawn Werry. This committee will review each event notification to help:
Step 3: MOU
- Determine if Advancement leadership will participate;
- Determine opportunities for synergy with other activities;
- Minimize conflicting events to ensure maximum participation;
- Maximize event exposure as well as human and financial resources.

This may be used when determining next steps but may not always be necessary.
In creating a strategic and fulfilling partnership this tool can bring a collaborative understanding. As we create our partnership we will outline a memorandum of understanding (MOU) so both parties are aware of and agree upon:
- The strategy;
- Event Mission or Purpose;
- Event Outcomes;
Your point of contact will establish this MOU, review it, and most times require signatures from both parties.
Step 4: Marketing
Your point of contact whether it be Central Development or the Alumni Association will manage all marketing efforts with the Marketing Department and provide you with regular updates. The Marketing Department has developed various tools for strategic alumni engagement and maximum campaign (if necessary) enhancement. Tools include but are not limited to:

- Attendee engagement;
- On-sight marketing;
- Event kit for campaign events (level 1, level 2, or level 3);
- Electronic communication;
- Print (including invitation) communication;
This form benefits your College/Unit, Central Advancement and the Association by strengthening future events as wells as marketing opportunities. This information provides event analysis, enhanced reporting and follow-up. Thus, if you plan similar events, we can be provide you with overviews of similar events as well as mailing list of alumni who are most likely to attend.
