What makes an alumnus an alumnus? By definition, an alumnus is someone who attended a school. So whether you took four days of class or spent four year diligently taking notes, you are an OHIO alumnus. Congrats!
However, the only people automatically included in the alumni database are graduates of OHIO. Four times each year, once per graduation, records are taken from the Registrar's Office and uploaded into the database. Because records are verified, June graduates may not appear in the database until August or September.
An online version of this database exists in the alumni directory. The directory --part of our larger online community-- is the ideal spot to search for your fellow Bobcats. On the community, you can also read/write class notes, write a listing for your business in the yellow pages and view the events calendar.
Non-degree alumni also appear in the database, though not necessarily in the directory. These are individuals that have been added to the database one-by one. If you have strong feelings toward Ohio University but did not graduate, please contact us so we can start a record for you.
Other people in the alumni database include donors to Ohio University, such as parents, friends and Bobcat fans.
