Are you looking for an OU alumnus or alumna? We can help! There are two great ways to locate alumni online, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week: The [Gateway] and the Alumni Directory. It is easy to register for both of these sites, log in, and start looking.
Both of these avenues will provide you with—at minimum—an opportunity to send a message to any alumni who have registered with us. We have also ensured that each site provides different levels of privacy, so that you may choose the best way to protect your information. Please read about both The [Gateway] and the Alumni Directory below to determine which is the better fit for you. We hope you will decide that registering for both will help you most!
To register, you will need your last name and your official OU ID# available by e-mailing us at alumni@ohio.edu, or giving us a call at 740 593-4300.
The [Gateway]
If you are looking for a dynamic connection with your fellow alumni, The [Gateway] is the place for you. Much more than a directory of names, The [Gateway] is an online community which provides social and professional networking.
Here you can not only update your personal and business contact information, you can connect directly with friends and teammates via e-mail, join groups of special interest, and browse job opportunities. You can surf The [Gateway] message boards and respond to topics of interest or post new ones, see how many OU alumni live in your area, or send announcements to one specific group or to the entire OU alumni community.
On The [Gateway], you have a profile page waiting to be filled with up-to-date personal and business contact information, similar to the Alumni Directory. However, it also allows you to list broader business and career information, expanded educational information (certificates, other degrees, etc.), plus your favorite books, movies, music, teams and travel spots. You can also list your hobbies!
Additionally, on The [Gateway] you can post photos or keep a journal so your friends can see and read about what’s happening in your life.
Alumni Directory
The Alumni Directory is basically an online version of a printed directory, but because it’s online, it gives you the ability to sort information in a number of different ways. For example, among other options you may search for someone by graduation year, by city, or by occupation.
This is the easiest way to update your contact information. Once registered, you may list your home and business addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. The Alumni Directory makes it easy for others to search for your information and get in touch with you.
Why not try both?
Why not register for both The [Gateway] and the Alumni Directory? It's easy to register and explore both options. Use both avenues for the greatest advantage in finding others, and in allowing others to find you.
You are welcome to call the alumni association at 740-593-4300 for personal help; our business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The [Gateway] and the Alumni Directory will serve you well anytime, but especially on the weekend or after 5 p.m.
