Sign up for your visits will be on a first come first serve basis. Please sign-up ASAP since these companies/schools/opportunities are limited in the number of students they can host. You will be expected to attend each of the sessions for which you are registered. Visits are mandatory AND ATTENDENCE WILL BE TAKEN! Please be prompt!
We will make available each student's schedule one week before the event with which visits you will be attending. The document will include the time, location, and the alumni escorts (if applicable) who will be meeting you. The dress for each visit is business casual or professional. Please, no jeans or t-shirts.
A recommended hotel listing is available at the Charlotte Networking Week home page. Please do not stray from the recommended hotel listing. Please note the Ohio University Alumni Association Charlotte Chapter is NOT responsible for student travel arrangements or hotel accommodations (these must be made by the students).
Please remember that this is a networking event and not a job fair. The purpose of Charlotte Networking Week is to assist Ohio University students in networking with Ohio University Alumni in Charlotte to help students with their career and job search. This event also allows students to visit various companies in Charlotte to get a better understanding of the Charlotte job market and industries available. Please bring your resumes.
Payment is ONLY accepted online along with your registration. The $40 Non-refundable Fee is required to attend and participate in ALL events.
2012 Charlotte Networking Week Schedule
- Wednesday Evening/Thursday Morning: Travel to Charlotte, NC
- Thursday Afternoon: Career Focus Alumni Panels (3–5 p.m.) Please arrive early
- Thursday Evening: Alumni Banquet at aLoft Uptown Charlotte at the Epicenter
- 5 p.m Cocktail Hour (Cash Bar)
- 6 p.m Dinner
- 7 p.m Presentation, OU Update, and Keynote Speaker Ty Votaw, an Ohio University Alumnus, Class of '84
- Friday Morning: Company Visits with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Taylor, International Paper, Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, Duke Energy, Premier Inc, Wells Fargo, Local Teacher Shadowing Program (Elementary or Middle)
- Friday Afternoon: Tour of Carolina Panthers Stadium, Walking tour of Uptown Charlotte, Tour of Time Warner Cable Arena
- Friday Evening: 5–8 p.m. Alumni Happy Hour at Dixie’s Tavern (Appetizers Provided – limited basis)
