A graduate is defined by Merriam-Webster's dictionary as "a holder of an academic degree or diploma." If you received a degree from Ohio University, you are an OHIO graduate. If you received a degree, you are an alumnus as well as a graduate, but you can be an alumnus without receiving a degree.
