| Advocacy
The primary goal of the Advocacy Program is to promote Ohio University and its position concerning legislative issues. The role of each Advocate is to build upon existing personal relationships with local legislators and foster relationships with incoming legislators. We also encourage Advocates to inform and engage leaders of their respective communities of the importance and beneficial impact of higher education.
This Alumni Association-sponsored program works in conjunction with the University's Office of Governmental Relations. The Advocates serve as a “pipeline” between the University and members of the Ohio General Assembly through the resources of individuals such as you. As a state-supported institution, Ohio University requires support from members of the Ohio General Assembly in order to continue on the path of excellence.
