About the Interior

Through generous donations, many of the rooms in the Alumni Center were restored, including:

FIRST FLOOR

phillips room
Phillips Room (Parlor)
Restored through the gift of Joan Galbreath Phillips, Class of 1946, and J. Wallace Phillips.

harmon room
Harmon Room (Dining Room)
Restored through the gift of Foster and Martha Harmon, Class of 1934, in memory of his parents, Mae F. and H. R. Harmon.

strous room
Strous Room (Kitchen)
The kitchen was restored through the gift of Ruth E. Huber, Class of 1929, in honor of Margaret Churchheus Strous and Nancy Scott Strous.

veranda
Class of 1957 Veranda
Funds to restore and decorate the veranda were a gift from the Class of 1957 on the occasion of its Silver Anniversary Reunion.

Dedicated in memory of Keith Welsh, a member of the Class of 1960 and former director of the Ohio University Alumni Association.

Andrew T. Still Library
Restored through a gift from the College of Osteopathic Medicine in honor of all Ohio University alumni who have devoted their careers to the healing arts.

SECOND FLOOR OFFICE AREA

The Williams Room
The office of the Executive Director of the Ohio University Alumni Association is named after Clark E. Williams, a 1921 graduate and the first full-time alumni secretary. He served from 1922-1954.

The Reider Room

Funds to restore the assistant director’s office (now the office of the Senior Director, Alumni Relations and Development) were donated by Annette Reider in memory of her husband, Robert W. Reider. He was a 1939 alumnus and member of the Alumni Board of Directors from 1970-1972. Additional funds for furnishings were donated by the Women’s Club of Greater Cleveland.

The Leete Room
The office of the Director, Reunions, Special Programs and Alumni Education is named in memory of Constance G. Leete ’18, granddaughter of General Charles H. Grosvenor.
