VisCom's Dawn to Dusk focuses on 'green'
in Athens County

The 12th annual Dawn to Dusk photography event involved more than 150 students in the School of Visual Communication who explored the many ways in which Athens County residents are “going green.”

The actual photo shoot -- from dawn to dusk, of course -- took place Friday, Oct. 17. A marathon editing session followed on Saturday, Oct. 18, when faculty, assisted by students, edited an amazing 15,000 photos down to 300 for inclusion on the project’s Web site at www.viscomd2d.com, designed by an online team.

Interview with Urban Scholar, junior India Pierce

“Urban Scholars has been such a blessing and has enabled me to focus on my studies instead of worrying about how I would pay for school. It is more than just money; the scholarship has cultivated me as a scholar and given me the tools and information necessary for me to extend my scholarship outside of this program and into other arenas.”

That’s how India Pierce, a junior here on the Athens campus, describes the effect her scholarship has had on her life as a Bobcat.  But she shares more with us than just her experiences as a student -- she also has advice for OHIO alumni.
