Michael D. Arbinger is a Toledo Public Schools physical education teacher and baseball coach. He was a starter all four years on the OHIO Bobcat’s baseball team, setting a school record for runs scored and total bases taken. At the end of his collegiate career, he held most of OHIO’s career and season hitting records. He has served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has played baseball professionally with the Pittsburgh Pirates and in the Independent Frontier League with the Washington Wild Things. In 2002, he was named to the Gulf Coast All-Stars and named to the Frontier League All-Stars in 2005. Arbinger is currently working toward his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Toledo.

Joseph B. Carbone, BSED '70

Joseph B. Carbone has been the head coach of the OHIO baseball team for more than 20 seasons, leading the team to victory more times than any other OHIO coach in any other sport. He is one of only two coaches in Mid-American Conference history to top 600 wins. He was an accomplished baseball player in his own right during his undergraduate career, taking positions of second base, shortstop, third base and outfield. Carbone is a sought-after speaker at coaches’ clinics in the United States and Canada and has addressed the American College Baseball Coaches Convention four times. Carbone also played a huge role in the establishment of the Southern Ohio Copperheads collegiate baseball team, of which he is still an advisor.

Jake D. Percival is an assistant wrestling coach at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. He was a star wrestler at OHIO, the first four-time All-American in MAC history and only the third wrestler in conference history to win four individual titles. Over the course of his career, he achieved 142 wins, 10 losses, establishing a new school record. Percival also won the wrestling team’s Redshirt-of-the-Year award his first year at OHIO. He currently lives in Westlake, OH with his wife, Meredith.

Julia A. Cole, BSED '75

Julia A. Cole is an experienced and versatile athlete. Shortly after earning her undergraduate degree from OHIO she began playing on the amateur golf circuit and eventually went professional. She has played in Asian, European and LPGA tours, winning many, including the 1984 Thailand Open. She is a Class A LPGA Teaching Professional and Managing Partner who earned Section Teacher of the Year honors from LPGA and was on the “Golf for Women’s” Top 50 instructors list for four straight years. Cole has also established the Julie Cole Annual Charity Golf Classic, which raises money for three charities in her hometown of Findlay, Ohio and serves as a board member on the First Tee of Charlotte Learning Academy. She currently lives in Charlotte, NC.
